Kick-off of tree-wise quality and well-being monitoring in DataBio project

MHG Systems started with Senop Oy recently a remote-sensing-forestry pilot focusing on hyperspectral imaging from drones to monitor vegetation and tree cover. Imaging campaigns are carried out by Senop manufactured hyper spectral imaging device operating in the visible to near-infrared spectral range.
One target of the project is to develop a concept for providing tree-wise quality and well-being data on Wuudis Service. The imaging campaigns of the pilot forestries were carried out in Central Finland, Mikkeli and Hankasalmi.
South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – XAMK is involved in the project through its tutorial forest estate in Mikkeli, Otava. The video about the imaging campaign can be seen from the link below. The video is available only in Finnish.

 

DataBio – Europe’s largest primary production project for big data

Databio project (H2020 Big data Public-Private Partnership project) is a giant project in European level with a budget of 16,2 M€. The project opens for Wuudis service pilot projects in Czech Republic, Belgium and Spain and for MHG Systems as a whole new business with the establishment of forest monitoring tools in the Wuudis ecosystem. MHG Systems is a forestry work package leader in the project.
