MHG Systems Ltd has started the first phase of MHG Bioenergy ERP implementation with FactorVerde SA, the largest biomass supplier of Spain. With MHG Bioenergy ERP FactorVerde will be able to control and monitor the whole biomass delivery chain form the small road side storages, through transportation and terminals, all the way to the power plant silos.


The CEO of FactorVerde, Mr. Roberto De Antonio Garcia, appears really excited when he talks about the implementation of the new project. Mr. De Antonio says that FactorVerde recognized the need for resource planning and management system already several years ago. However, there has not been enough powerful systems available for bioenergy sector in the markets before MHG's solution. The main reasons for choosing MHG Bioenergy ERP for FactorVerde included the strong bioenergy focus of the system and possibilities to control and manage the scattered workforce in an easy and reliable manner. “In addition to these MHG's service also helps us to optimize every part and player of the delivery chain while also providing significant cost savings in everyday business operations.”, continues Mr. De Antonio.

The timing of the new co-operation also turned out to be perfect as there is a new way of thinking emerging in Spain. The understanding of the great role that bioenergy plays in the regions such as prevention of the forest fires, local employment and overall positive ecological effect is growing rapidly.

The goals FactorVerde has set to itself are ambitious. Within the next ten years the number of bioenergy power plants supplied by FactorVerde should fivefold up to ten and the amount of produced biomass is naturally expected to grow accordingly. However, with the easy and effective control of the delivery and production chain, the set goals are possible to reach with high certainty.

The production and delivery chain of biomass in Spain is basically very similar to Finland, says Mr. Mikko Piisola, the Account manager of MHG Systems, who has just returned from Madrid. Essentially all one has to do, is move the biomass from forest to the power plant as efficiently as possible. However compared to Finland the Spanish model has much more players and segments included. This makes the managing of the delivery chain more complex and therefore creates greater need for industry specific management systems like MHG Bioenergy ERP. According to the managers of FactorVerde, Mr. Carlos Vaca and Mr. Juan Manuel Charro Martinez the first impressions of the new system has been extremely positive.

FactorVerde
FactorVerde was established in the year 2000 and has quickly grown to be the biggest biomass supplier in Spain.
