MHG Visitors presented wide interest towards MHG Mobile PC at Leipzig Enertec fair. MHG Systems CEO Mr. Seppo Huurinainen | | |
MHG Systems has presented today at the Enertec fair held in Leipzig (Germany), its new data collection software – MHG Mobile PC – which will complement their MHG Bioenergy ERP service. The new Java-based software is targeted especially for biomaterial acquisition chains. It allows users to collect harvesting and chipping data on the field without having a fixed network connection, and to send the data thereafter to the MHG Bioenergy ERP service via wireless connection.
"Sometimes it is nice to introduce something old", says MHG Systems' Technology manager Veli-Matti Plosila in describing the company's newest addition. "MHG Bioenergy ERP is a true enterprise resource planning service. It is designed for the electricity, heating, pellet, forest industry and forest service companies, and it can be used via web browser or mobile devices. This newly introduced MHG Mobile PC software can be installed on Windows PCs, and it supports our popular web-based ERP service. It allows users who don't have a fixed Internet connection to collect and input data to the ERP service", continues Plosila Seppo Huurinainen, the managing director of MHG Systems, presented the software today at the Enertec Fair in Leipzig and described the customer needs that lead to the development of the new service: "We noticed that many of our customers, especially the harvesting and transportation entrepreneurs, needed an off-line data collection service. The implementation costs of MHG Mobile PC are also really low for these two groups, because they already have the necessary hardware installed in their vehicles. Furthermore, both entrepreneurs and drivers are accustomed to using their existing IT tools. The acquisition of MHG Mobile PC is also supported by the fact that several users of heavy forest machines and transport equipment rely much more on the durability of vehicle computers designed for challenging environments than on the durability of tiny mobile devices." New old, more options and user comfort Even though the MHG Mobile PC software doesn't add any new features to the MHG Bioenergy ERP service, it allows the users to input and acknowledge data also when working offline. People working on the field can, for example, acknowledge different types of short-distance transportation and loading assignments, or send free text messages to the MHG Bioenergy ERP system. The data that has been inputted in off-line mode using MHG Mobile PC can naturally be supplemented with GPS positioning data and various types of file attachments. In addition to MHG Mobile PC, you can do the same tasks online using a web browser or mobile device. Nevertheless, especially on remote sites with poor mobile connections, MHG Mobile PC is significantly faster to use than any of the previously available online input methods. The data can be exported in batch mode to MHG Bioenergy ERP at the end of the day or when network connection becomes available, where after the data is available also to other members of the partner network. Localised for the users MHG Bioenergy ERP is currently used in more than 10 countries and localised to eight different languages. The new MHG Mobile PC software is available immediately in Finnish, English and German. Other languages are being localised at the very moment, and the new software will be available in all of MHG Bioenergy ERP's languages by the end of the spring. MHG Systems' ERP system has been designed so that it is very easy to localise and new languages can be implemented very rapidly, if necessary. Having the user interface in one's mother tongue, is very important especially for field workers. MHG Systems Ltd is one of the exhibitors in the Enertec 2009 Fair, held on 27–29 January at Leipzig, Germany. The company's stand is located in Hall 4.3: C36. MHG Bioenergy ERP MHG Bioenergy ERP service is designed for the electricity, heating, pellet, forest industry and forest service companies, and it can be used via web browser or mobile devices.
